NS Personal Appearance Standard

The special website in commemoration of the 40 years of National Service has an interesting page about personal appearance standard of NS Men with pictures of the various acceptable haircuts for males. Kinda reminds me of the North Korea hair rules. I like the part about the moustache: "If a moustache is worn it is to be kept neatly trimmed and of moderate length. No portion is to fall below the upper lip line or extend sideways beyond a vertical line drawn upward from the corner of the mouth."

(Thanks ANG)

The mustache regulation you cite is how it was in the US when I was in AF ROTC back in the late 70s-early 80s. Most of the guys who wore mustaches had the toothbrush mustache to keep within the regs, which I always thought was ironic considering that they all looked like Adolf Hitler that way.
