Repeal It!

Repeal It! is a rap video made by Singapore celebs to support a legislator's push to repeal a law making gay sex a criminal offence.

The Penal Code of Singapore, in Section 377a, provides for a jail sentence for up to two years should a man be found to have committed an act of "gross indecency" with another man.

This issue is relevant to all Singaporeans (not only gays) who believe that everyone should be governed by one law that applies to all individuals regardless of race, religion, gender or sexual orientation. It is relevant to all people who believe that a democratically elected government is there to protect minorities from the “tyranny” of the majority with the view of promoting a pluralist, diverse and progressive society. And lastly it is relevant to all people who believe that privacy between consenting adults should be respected as long as no one is harmed.

Here's what you can do to repeal Section 377a:

1) Become a signatory to the Open Letter To The Prime Minister

2) Tell your friends and loved ones about Repeal377A.com

3) Print out the Parliamentary Petition, sign it and hand it in

More info here.

I think the law is wrong. It discriminates against homosexuals living in Singapore. Homosexuals need equality before the law. They have to be be treated in the same way as heterosexuals. It's about time we repeal Section 377a. Repeal it, now!

(Thanks Gaylord, Shy, SKM)
