Rope skipping is the key to our Olympic Games glory

Forget table tennis! I think the only way for Singapore to win a gold medal at the Olympics is through... rope skipping! That's right. Why bother spending so much money to get imports from China to do us proud when we have our very own kids who can skip their way to Olympic Games glory? Now let's just hope those people behind London 2012 will include rope skipping as one of the sports. China and the rest of the world better watch out. From Channel NewsAsia:
The Olympic fever may be over but some kids here have a reason to jump for joy. That is because they have helped Singapore bag two golds in rope skipping at the Amateur Athletic Union Junior Olympic Games held in the United States in August.

10-year-old Ben Ong and his team-mates can clock up to 300 jumps per minute. The team from Rulang Primary and Paya Lebar Methodist Primary was the first and only Asian team competing in the rope skipping event.

They beat 39 other teams to clinch gold in the individual freestyle for the 10-year-old category and the double dutch relay team event. This was an achievement for the niche sport, which took off here in 2004.

Maybe they should also include SMS typing as a sport too. More gold medal opportunities for us!

Dude to get rope skipping into the games, it must be voted in by two-thirds of the Olympic committee.
