Illustrated Cross-Section of Hong Kong's Kowloon Walled City
Kowloon Walled City was a densely populated, largely ungoverned settlement in Hong Kong. Originally a Chinese military fort, it housed 33,000 residents, all living in a ridiculously cramped environment. Before its destruction in 1993, a Japanese team was sent to draw an amazing cross-section of the squatting paradise.
