Jupiter, Mercury and Venus perform Dance of the Planets
Look low towards the western sky after sunrise and you'll be treated to a magnificent sight. Planets Venus, Jupiter and Mercury will be close together and you can easily spot this heavenly grouping with your naked eye. Check out the maps here. The map above shows the West-North Western sky for Singapore viewers today (27/5/2013) at 7.30pm. Jupiter, Mercury and Venus are about 12 degrees above the western horizon.
The next evening on 28/5/2013 sees Venus and Mercury creeping higher up in the sky.
This is how the three planets will line up on 29/5/2013. This planetary conjunction is a rare event. There won't be another triple conjunction this tight until 2026 so go out this evening and enjoy the sunset planet show.
