Straits Times puts photo of Tin Pei Ling's hair on its front page
Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe this is the first time in the history of The Straits Times that a photo showing a lady's back and hair made it to the front page of the newspaper! Strange photo isn't it? Where's her face? That lady is PAP's youngest candidate in this year's General Election, Ms Tin Pei Ling who is 27 years old, a senior associate at Ernst & Young Advisory and married to civil servant Ng How Yue, the principal private secretary (PPS) to the Prime Minister.
Yes, she's the same lady who in 2007 said in a speech that the widening gap between the lowest-income group and the well to do is not the government's responsibility.
The same lady who at a PAP Party Awards event stomped her feet in front of the camera when she didn't know what to say. Video above.
And yes, she's the same lady who in an interview given to My Paper today revealed that she wants to make friends with you online and then take you into the real world.
She's Tin Pei Ling. Yes, that's her. And yes, she wants your vote and maybe another Kate Spade handbag or two.
Update: He loves me. He loves me not! Does Tin Pei Ling really know? Or does she not?
Update: Our dear Tin Pei Ling even has a song written for her: "When I was just a little girl, I asked my mother what will I be? Will I be pretty? Will I be rich? Here's what she said to me. Que Pei Ling, Pei Ling. Get a rich husband, forget how old is he. The future is as bright as can be. Que Pei Ling, Pei Ling. Ferrari, LV.... (Thanks Mr Big)
Update: Watch Tin Pei Ling's NUS University Scholars Programme video interview. (Thanks Kok Wan)
Update: Read about Tin Pei Ling in a NUS Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences advertorial. (Thanks Rickie)
Update: Wooh! Tin Pei Ling aka @tinrina has changed her Twitter profile pic! Why? Beach shot too sexy is is it?
Update: @tinrina is now @tinpeiling. She is still protecting her tweets but you can read her old tweets thanks to Google Cache and yes, she's still on Facebook.
Update: Tin Pei Ling has spoken on Facebook last night.
Update: Tin Pei Ling announces on her new Facebook page that she's going to stand on top of moving MRT train!

its just a childish act which is like a reflex action for many of us. I'm sure even some of the most confident women have habits like this, its kind of rediculous how this is a big deal online.
Dear Ms Tin,
Whether you like it or not, you have become the symbol of things gone wrong and things that are disliked.
That somehow you are representing the PAP, and worse, got elected in without a significant groundswell of support...perceived to be riding on the coat-tails of other PAP veterans and the PAP's track-record...
You are the symbol of perceived cronyism, where it is about connections and not about personal abilities. You would not have been recognized if not for your husband's job connection.
You are the symbol of the GRC political strategy gone badly wrong...an unproven and unpopular individual getting into parliament because of the GRC strategy, while a proven and popular individual like Mr George Yeo is out because of the GRC strategy.
You are a symbol of greed and thick-skin-ness, where you unashamedly accept the MP's allowance without making any comment on why you deserve it.
You are the symbol of perceived arrogance and high-handedness, where you accept your MP's position without really explaining clearly and logically why you deserve it.
You are the symbol of great selfishness, you will hurt the PAP and anyone who supports you by remaining in your position...You are single-handedly hurting how other countries view us and our political system...you know this but yet you choose to remain silent on these issues and choose to remain in your position.
Whether you planned for all this or not, whether you expected this or not...there is tremendous unhappiness about you...and it is significant. There is not a single person that I know who thinks positively about you...and whether I am right or not, there seems to be a whole lot more who really dislike you and have no positive impression of you...
Whatever it is that you are going to try and convince all these people, it's going to be extremely difficult...and not worth the damage you are going to do the PAP and others around you.
Ms TPL, you should really do the honorable thing and resign immediately.
If you are really sincere about serving the people, start all over again at the grass-roots, do things that really convince mature, rational, logical and administratively-aware people individuals that you are capable.
You are young, you have time.
So if you are really sincere and a good person and a good Singaporean, please resign.
Resign now, Ms TPL, please.
