The Great Beijing Olympics Fakery

They faked the giant footprints fireworks and even used a fake singer. Watch the video above. It seems that the Chinese will do almost anything to make their Olympics opening ceremony the grandest of them all.

The giant footprints fireworks were one of the highlights of the opening ceremony. China insists that the fireworks were there. Watch this video of the footprints shot from the ground. But they decided to insert computer generated imagery so that the giant footprints looked awesome to the millions watching on TV.

Then they also revealed that Lin Miaoke, the Chinese darling that sang at the opening ceremony was lip syncing. Watch this video of her "performance". The voice wasn't ever hers! It belongs to another girl named Yang Peiyi. How bad is Lin Miaoke's voice? Maybe this bad. Ah no wonder. Yang Peiyi was the original choice but the Chinese decided that she wasn't cute enough to be shown to the world and thus turned to Lin Miaoke. Poor girl.

After watching the opening ceremony of the Olympics live on TV, I was quick to praise the Chinese for a spectacular show. Now I'm disappointed and angry that the Chinese have fooled me and millions of others watching on TV. I wonder what else did the Chinese fake?

Damn China! Seriously the fireworks I can accept but the fake singer is just unforgivable!

The other girl isn't that ugly that she cannot be shown to the world. It's her voice and it's just right for her to be performing it.

I knew that something fishy was going on when I was watching the opening ceremony. It was just too perfect imho.

Actually, I'm not that bothered by it. China is just doing whatever they can to make everything look perfect. Luciano Pavarotti lipsynch'd his performance at the 2006 Winter Olympics.

Every year, the Superbowl's singing of the national anthem and parts of the halftime show is lipsync'd - of course they do it because they are worried that the singers will be hoarse, etc... that day, not because they don't think the performers are cute enough.

As for the fireworks - as polluted as the air is in Beijing, in my opinion, anything to keep more smoke, ash, etc... out of the air, the better!

to the chinese..the opening for beijing 2008 was just a big big show.. everything was carefully crafted with the intention to be presented at its best..including the current episode of lin miao ke.. in life, things happened in this matter too.. just like the good looking ones go on tv or movie screens as leading roles and the good vocals go behind the screens to dub the dialogue for tv shows or movies..

it really depends on what point of view you are coming from..

in any case, no matter what china does right or wrong.. someone or some countries are definitely going to criticise her either ways... :)

Well done China.

Alright, throw away the singing, throw away the footprints fireworks, without them, I'd still consider this is the best Olympics opening ceremony I've ever seen.
