Amazing 1972 Korean Invention: Self-Lighting Cigarette
In 1972, South Korean inventor Whang Kyu-bong invented the self-lighting cigarette. Watch the video above. Just strike the tip of the cigarette onto its packaging and it lights up! You don't need matches or lighters. Unfortunately for Whang, his self-lighting cigarette did not become a hit with Koreans. I wonder why.
