I know the situation is very bad in Japan now, with the country plunging into depression and its finance minister looking like he was drunk at the G7, but surely it cannot be this bad? 14-year-old Japanese has built his very own Jomon period (10,000 BC to 400 BC) Japanese pit house out of bamboo and rice straw and intends to live in it for a few weeks at a time!
