Over at the Yahoo! press conference held in Hall 5 of Singapore Expo, the folks at Yahoo! announced several new mobile initiatives for the Asia Pacific region, including five new Yahoo! oneSearch partnerships with leading mobile operators in the region, as well as strategic mobile advertising partnerships.
Yahoo! also announced localized versions of Yahoo! Go 3.0 for India, Australia and Southeast Asia including a local language version for Indonesia, and an English version of Yahoo! oneSearch with voice that recognizes regional accents. More about Yahoo! oneSearch here.
New Mobile Widgets for the Asia Pacific region are also launched including Yahoo! Cricket, Yahoo! Answers and Showtimes, as well as a MTV Asia mobile widget featuring news updates and music charts. These mobile widgets will be accessible through the new Yahoo! Go 3.0 and the Yahoo! mobile home page. Mobile widget developers can also build their widgets in Blueprint, Yahoo!'s recently launched XML-based language that allows developers to write their widget once and have their widgets run across millions of devices.
