Spectacular Phoenix landing on Mars captured
The High Resolution Imaging Science Experiment (HiRise) camera on board the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter has captured a breathtaking image of the Phoenix Lander passing infront of a huge crater on the way to its picture perfect landing on Mars. HiRise has also taken images (here and here) of the lander hardware hours after its landing. The HiRise blog has more updates and also check out NASA's Phoenix website for more info about the Phoenix mission.
