10 Days 10 Tees: Aliens Attack!
Sorry I couldn't get this done sooner but here's my 9th T-shirt for Comboutique Asia's 10 Days 10 Tees Challenge. Fans of the retro game Space Invaders will recognise the alien graphic which I used on the T-shirt.
A close-up above. Cool aye! I'm not really fond of red tops but I'm pretty pleased at how this one turns out. Oh and yes, that's my new pair of glasses. One more T-shirt to go!

Pokemon Card Collection going for US$1 million on eBay
Seriously dude, no one is ever going to pay you US$1m for your Pokemon card collection. Fine. There are more than 300 cards in the collection and almost half are holographic rares. But a million dollars? You gotta be nuts.
Cosplayers at San Diego Comic Con 2009
Parka Blogs was at the San Diego Comic Con 2009 and he took lots of awesome photos of the cosplayers there. There are more than 370 photos in his Flickr photoset including this Hulk cosplayer who I think will give the real Hulk a run for his money. Enjoy!
Hello Kitty Stormtrooper will give you nightmares
People should stop mixing Hello Kitty with Star Wars. Look at this. A Hello Kitty Stormtrooper! Yes, WTF! This is just so, so, so wrong. George Lucas should hunt down the person who made it, lock him in some cell and make sure he never creates anything like this again.
8 Track Walkman-Pod thing is so retro cool
Dude asks himself,"Can I make a personal 8 track player with just headphones in the style of a Walkman? How small can I make it? Bear in mind it needs quite a bit of power to move the tape loop around inside the cartridge." Of course he can! Here's how.

And you thought you would never see I.Z. and Xiaxue together in the newspaper
Xiaxue and me were on the Chinese paper on Sunday about bloggers with endorsements. Slightly bigger scan here. Dblchin (thanks babe!) was kind enough to do a partial translation of the story. Read it below.
If one would like to experience being an ambassador like most celebrities do, blogging is a big chance to shine out. Beside earning money, you get to enjoy freebies. And when your traffic starts hitting the roof, the chance of you endorsing for a campaign or product will be relatively high. A handful of local bloggers, although they have not hit national TV, starred in movies nor release albums are already ambassadors of certain products.
French fashion label Comboutique, have started their operations in Asia & recently engaged a local blogger I.Z to endorse their brand. Sales Development manger, Cheng Bing Rui explained that due to the high charges of celebs, the company has decided to turn to the blogosphere by engaging a blogger to endorse their products on a 4 figure fee. Charges might add up to 5 figure if celebs are to endorse their products.

He said, "Our clients have a choice of designing their own items ie: T-shirt, caps, cups. It will then be sent to us for printing. Regardless of placing orders or payment, everything is done via the web. Thus the best fit ambassadors are the bloggers."
Celebrity blogger No.1 : I.Z
Blogging for 5 years, I.Z have already endorsed 5 different brands and products. This is said to be better than some celebrities. I.Z's blog mainly carries a fast-forward, up-market trend context. He had came in 2nd during the 2006 blogger event of "Best blogger in Asia" & "Best Singapore Blogger" in a 2004 Asia blogger event.
During the interview, I.Z mentioned that setting up a blog is just purely a personal interest and never thought of making a fortune through his blog. His full-time job is an editor for a web television company (Klik.TV).

Crazy Japanese fangirl interviews Harry Potter
Last month, 10,000 of Japan's biggest Harry Potter fans competed for a chance to personally interview the cast of Harry Potter. This girl was the lucky one. Watch her as she interviews Daniel Radcliffe (video above), Rupert Grint and Emma Watson (video below).
The interviews are so hilarious, they are definitely more enjoyable to watch than the new Harry Potter movie which has to be the most boring movie ever. Sorry Potter fans.

Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachan in Singapore, says it breathes efficiency and sterilized existence
My favourite Bollywood actor, the great Amitabh Bachan (watch him above in Naseeb) is currently in Singapore and he's been busy blogging about his experiences here. He has lots to say of course. Here's a snip. From Big B Blog:
Singapore breathes efficiency and sterilized existence. Had a problem yesterday as you know with the internet. Took the liberty and the chance of calling the management downstairs and making a soft request if something could be done. Within seconds the door bell rand and suitably attired gentlemen, shoes off by the door, entered and had solution to the problem sorted in the next minute. And here I am, with a stupid grin on my face, hammering away at the keys to the ‘familia extendum’...
National day for Singapore coming up. I think its 9th August. The city decorates itself with banners and flags at vantage points. The National Emblem, the LION face, prominent in its majesty looking down upon us, its lustrous mane symbolically divided into 5 partings depicting - democracy, peace, progress, justice and equality.
Anime Batman has Kung Fu Death Grip Gloves
Michael Pinto says, "I added my own captions to show what accessories a mangaesque Batman might be adorned with. And not to be left out I gave the same treatment to the Robin Ame Comi Robin Vinyl Statue."

10 Days 10 Tees: Stormtroopers
Finally a T-shirt that I could wear to the Singapore Toy, Games & Comic Convention (STGCC) in August when I meet up with the folks from the 501st Legion. I'm hoping with this T-shirt, those guys will go nice on me and not shoot me with their blasters. Btw, Klik.TV (I'm working there as the Editor) will also be at STGCC '09. We are the convention's Official Online Broadcast Partner!
The Stormtrooper T-shirt is the 8th in a series of T-shirts that I had to design as part of the Comboutique Asia 10 Days 10 Tees Challenge. You can design your own T-shirt too using the easy to use online tool by Comboutique Asia and get the T-shirt delivered to you within 48 hours!

Awesome videos of the Greatest Solar Eclipse of the Century
StoryBalloon has gathered videos of this morning's great total solar eclipse that was visible to millions in China and India. The stunning video above is from China Central Television (CCTV). Take a look at the corona which appeared during totality. What a beautiful sight! Damn I wish I was there in China to witness this live. You can watch more videos on StoryBalloon's YouTube channel.
And for those of you in Singapore who missed the live coverage of the eclipse on Channel U this morning, you can tune in to the channel again tonight at 11.30pm. Channel U will be providing a half hour special highlights of the total solar eclipse. Enjoy!

Watch the longest Total Solar Eclipse of the century tomorrow morning!
There will be a total eclipse of the Sun for parts of India, China and the western Pacific Ocean tomorrow morning, 22 July 2009. The central path begins in India's Gulf of Khambhat at 00:53 Universal Time (UT) and then sweeps over Indian cities or Surat, Indore, Bhopal, Varanasi and Pata before crossing to Nepal, Bangladesh, Burma and then parts of China.
The unusual long path of the total solar eclipse across two of the most populated countries in the world could make this the most observed eclipse in all of history. And not only that, it is also one of the longest eclipses, if not the longest eclipse in this century, lasting nearly three-and-a-half hours!
Unfortunately for us in Singapore, we will only get to see a partial eclipse and a very poor one. Only 3.6% of the sun will be covered by the moon. Partial eclipse will start for Singapore at 0:40 UT which is at 8:40 am Singapore time. Maximum eclipse is at 1:11 UT or 9:11 am S'pore time. Partial eclipse will end at 1:44 UT or 9:44 am S'pore time. The partial eclipse can be viewed over a large area, from Siberia and Kazakhstan through Southeast Asia and Indonesia. But remember, do not look at the sun directly without proper solar filters.
If you do want to catch the total solar eclipse live, do tune in to Channel U from 8 am. They will simulcast the entire eclipse live from China! Or if you can't catch it on the telly, try Sun Stopper, a local website that will also be streaming the total eclipse live.
For more info and graphics, click here, here and here.
Update: Channel U will be providing a half hour special highlights of the total solar eclipse on Wednesday night at 11.30 pm.
Update: Check out my Twitter for the latest pics and live feeds.

10 Days 10 Tees: Stargazer
For my 6th T-shirt for Comboutique Asia's 10 Days 10 Tees challenge, I wanted one that I would wear when I'm out stargazing. I love astronomy so I thought I should have something on the T-shirt that tells everyone I'm a stargazer!
The design is pretty simple. I used a stylized font for the word stargazer and then added some stars of different sizes on the top left of the T-shirt. Everything is done using Comboutique Asia's Design Your Own T-shirt interface. Try it out!

You aren't a hardcore Transformers fan until you have your very own Transformers T-shirt. With that in mind, my 4th T-shirt for Comboutique Asia's 10 Days 10 Tees challenge had to be one dedicated to the hero of heroes, the Autobot leader, Optimus Prime!
When I received the T-shirt from Comboutique Asia, I was really surprise at the quality of the printing. You can really see the details on Optimus' body! Maybe next time, I'll do one for Bumblebee. You too can design your own T-shirt using Comboutique Asia. Go ahead, try it out!

A pity but at least we get to watch a time lapse video (above) of him growing his beard during that 1 year of non-stop walking.
