Ai, a Samurai short film by Raffi Asdourian
Raffi Asdourian is a filmmaker living and working in NYC who makes abstract short films and music videos. His latest work, Ai - Life in the Shadow of Death (video above) is highly impressive. It is about a young woman, haunted by the memories of her parents being murdered, who discovers the truth about herself and her sensei. Inspired by the great tradition of Japanese cinema, Ai is an exploration of themes that stem from the era of the fearless warriors, the samurai. You can view photos of the film shoot here.
