Yesterday's dinner at Crab Shack

Last night, WH and I went to Crab Shack for dinner. Crab Shack specialises in all things crab. We ordered 3 flower crabs, all steamed...

and the Crab Shack Sampler...

which contains 3 pieces of stone crab claw, 1 soft shell crab with chicken floss topping, french fries, crab croquettes (watch out for the yummy creamy centre!), 1 crab au Gratin and a corn on the cob as the side dish. They ran out of crab claws last night (business must be damn good!) so they gave us an extra flower crab instead.

The crabs are caught fresh every morning by the Crab Shack founder who is in his mid 20s. He goes to the kelong everyday at 5am. Crikey! You know, I usually prefer my crabs big but I have to say the flower crabs at Crab Shack are really good despite being small in size, they are full of flesh and juicy too. In fact, all their crab dishes are yummy.

But don't expect a restaurant ambiance. Located along a row of shophouses, Crab Shack has a kopitiam (coffee shop) setting and it has no air con. It's very laid back and the best thing about it is its cheap and good food. Most of the dishes are under S$10! Ah, and not forgetting the cheap ice cold beer too, which is a must when eating the flower crabs.

So if you love crabs like I do, do head down to Crab Shack aye. Next time when I'm there, I'll be having the crab spaghetti. I heard it's really good.

Crab Shack is at 227 Upper Thomson Road. It opens from 5pm to midnight daily.

Hey... If you love crab shack so much.. I think you should check out their other outlet.

This branch of crab shack looks more appealing than that of the original branch. Guess they spent quite an effort doing up the stallfront and all. They also have a screen showing football and all. Not to mentioned that they also have a pool table for people to work off their appetite :D
