TODAY responds...

Reader Shyller sent an email to TODAY newspaper to tell them about my blog posting yesterday regarding the newspaper's use of a subheadline that leads to a full page ad. She says that their Voices editor, Yvone Lim replied to her. This is the editor's email:
Thanks for your email and the link to the blog. Just to clarify, the blurb on
page one was a paid advertisement in itself and not an editorial blurb.
Different fonts were used to distinguish this, but unfortunately it could have
been made clearer that this was an ad.

We'll take the feedback into account and strive to make the distinction clearer in future.
Great work Shy and good to know that TODAY takes this seriously. The distinction between ads and real news should be made clear so that readers are not misled!
