2007 Country Brand Rankings: Where's Singapore?

This report by Channel NewsAsia boasts that Singapore is Asia's most desirable city to live in (woah!!!) but fails to mention the obvious - that Singapore fails to make it to the top 10 of the 2007 Country Brand Rankings. From Channel NewsAsia:
According to the latest Country Brand Index, Singapore is – among Asian cities – the country that most people want to live in.

Singapore also came up tops among Asian countries in this annual global survey when it came to shopping and fine dining.

On the global stage, Singapore was number three in this category.
Australia is once again named the world’s top country brand (yay!!!), with the United States ranking second and the United Kingdom third. The only Asian country in the Top 10 Country Brands is Japan which made it to the 10th spot. I find this strange because in the Most Like To Live In category, Japan wasn't even included. Singapore is fifth (and the only Asian country) in that category but yet we are not good enough for the main rankings. I guess the Singapore Tourism Board has to work harder to build a better brand for Singapore.
