I got this from the email - a powerpoint presentation of satellite images of Earth. I thought it's beautifully done so I decided to record the whole thing on video and post it on YouTube.
Sorry to burst your bubble, but those day/night images are only illustrations and not actual photographs (although most of the rest are: the Alps, Iceland, etc.). You can't see continental shelfs from space; they're too far underwater to be seen. That and there aren't any clouds; for comparison, check out this photo, taken by the crew of Apollo 17. Still, putting the slide show into a movie form is a great idea. I collect space photos like these, and doing something similar sounds like a good idea.
