The phenomenon of the English fans in Germany

The BBC World Cup 2006 Blog on how so many English people make it to the match one day but are gone the next. From World Cup 2006 Blog:
A crowd of 70,000 England fans are expected in Schalke 04’s home town on Saturday. The Portuguese will be here in one-tenth of those numbers.

“Nobody can really tell where they come from, how they arrive in such a short period of time and where they disappear to so quickly,” puzzled the Gelsenkirchen police commander at Friday’s press conference.
Let's just hope England will beat Portugal later tonight to advance to the semi-finals and the English fans can continue to puzzle the Germans. In last night matches, Argentina lost to Germany in a penalty shoot out and Italy beat Ukraine. There goes my England-Argentina final.
