Comedy Central may have pulled down the rerun of the South Park episode Bloody Mary after the Catholic League successfully issued a complaint but over at its South Park Studios website, it is still making available clips of the episode for download. The episode has a statue of the Virgin Mary bleeding from its ass/vagina. Mr Twig's net has torrents of this and other South Park episodes. Boing Boing has more on this.I love South Park. It is the only cartoon that will make me laugh from the start to the end. The cartoon is notorious for making fun of celebrities, icons, beliefs, etc. I'm not a Catholic but for someone who has a deep understanding of and respect for the Virgin Mary figure, I don't really think it is offending after watching the episode. It is just a satirical cartoon!
South Park is not just about making fun of people and icons. Take for example this Bloody Mary episode. It teaches people not to be too dependant on alcohol. Now that's a good thing.
