ANNOUNCEMENT: Israel (IZ) Kamakawiwo'ole acquires IZ Reloaded!

Mountain Apple Company, the independent Hawaiian label that markets Hawaiian singer IZ's five solo albums has announced that it will acquire the popular blog IZ Reloaded from Singapore.

IZ or also known as Israel Kamakawiwo'ole died in 1997. He became famous outside Hawaii when his album Facing Future was released in 1993 with his medley of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" and "What a Wonderful World", which was subsequently featured in several films, television programs, and commercials.

A spokesperson for Mountain Apple Company says they will use the IZ Reloaded blog as a tool for further marketing IZ's music throughout Asia. "IZ's songs instantly touches the hearts of people, no matter where they are from," said Jimmy Dickett of Mountain Apple Company. "We were actively pursuing IZ Reloaded because we felt it was an important vehicle for IZ's music."

The financial detail of the acquisition is not released but it is understood that the blogger behind IZ Reloaded will be given a contract to release his own single, a cover of Gone. You can listen to a demo recording below:
