Authorities still are not sure what set him off and what propelled him Monday as he stalked the halls and classrooms of Norris Hall with two semiautomatic pistols, chaining doors closed and murdering and maiming as he went.BoingBoing has several posts on him, here and here. This is a horrific tragedy and just shows why the world should get rid of guns from civilian hands. My heart goes out to the students of VA Tech and those who lost their family members and friends. The Americans will no doubt remember this tragedy for a very long time but I don't think it will change the majority view that it is the right of every citizen to bear arms. Guns and America are inseparable. Unfortunately for Americans, they will just have to live with future tragedies like this one.
Authorities found two three-page notes in his dorm room after the shootings. They weren't suicide notes and provided no clue about why he did what he did. Instead, they were expletive-filled rants against the rich and privileged, even naming people who he thought had kept him down, federal and state law enforcement sources said. Two government officials said he had been treated for mental health problems.
Police also are uncertain why Cho stopped and shot himself to death in Norris Hall, where most of his victims lay scattered around him.

Im glad that I did not have to worry about shootings when I was in school.
Maybe the Americans need one such incident every week to wake them up and change their gun control laws.
it must have been a terrible experience to see ur fellow friends, students, teachers get shot one by one infront of ur eyes.
Guns are so easily available in the US. The likelihood of someone going on a rampage is very high. All it takes is one mad person and one gun. The Virginia Tech incident won't be the last.
I initially thought it must have been some mad arab or black who did the shootings.
I was shocked to find out it was a Korean dude.
So happy Singapore doesn't have guns.
depressive + gun = bad combi!!!
I'm not surprised by the shootings but I'm surprised with the number dead.
How come americans love their guns so much uh??
think twice before u go to the us to work or study.
Yes I agree. Say no to guns!
Leave the ethnicity and 2nd amendment out of this for now. Please.
