Messi's incredible Maradona wonder goal
YouTube Link
Did you catch Barcelona's Argentinian wonderkid Leo Messi's spectacular goal against Getafe? The goal was remarkably identical to the one scored by Diego Maradona against England in the 1986 World Cup - some say the best goal in World Cup history. I've been a big fan of Messi - he and Ronaldinho are the only reasons why I watch Barcelona and the Spanish La Liga - and I'm having goose bumbs watching the above clip that shows a side by side comparison between Maradona's goal (left) and Messi's strike. The new Maradona has arrived! Oh, and don't forget to turn up the volume when you watch the clip. There are more clips on YouTube here. The Telegraph has a nice write-up asking if Messi's goal is better than Maradona's. It also has this nice graphic:

messssssiiiiiiiiiiii!!!!!!!!
The commentator was so excited.
The only problem with Messi is which is his best position. Should he play out on the right, as a second striker or in central midfield?
Maradona's goal is better because of the quality of the opposition. He had to beat top England players in a big World Cup game.
letz hope he dun become a drug addict and alcoholic like maradona.
messi, messi, messi, goal, goal, goalllll, messi, messs, mesi!
haha! thats the only words i can understand from what the commentator was saying.
Messi is no Maradona. Yet.
Goaaaaaaaaaaaaaalllllllllll! Mesimesimesimesimesimesi!

I like Messi too. I have him in my Championship manager team liao.
ENG: His favourite position when he plays for Barcelona is at wide right of a three man attack. I don't think he is an out and out winger. He is a cross between a playmaker and winger. Maybe when he grows older, he will move into a central midfield position but I don't think he should play as a striker because he's not a natural goal scorer.
Messi needs to win the World Cup for Argentina before he can be compared to Maradona.
Good graph, that one. Now see those lines in another perspective, probably useless but curious: both races, geographically placed in their original scenarios of glory, Messi's at the Nou Camp of Barcelona and Maradona´s at Azteca Stadium of Mexico, as seen by satellite / Google Earth.
In the standard view that opens, it's a pity, but the automatically calculated zoom level is too close, as the routes are quite tiny by planetary standards, but if you just zoom out one level, you'll see the green fields. Below the maps, click KML for the Google Earth perspective.
Maradona used his left leg to score but Messi used his right.
Even Maradona himself have said that Messi is his replacement.
