A day after Digg founder said that the company heard its users and will not delete stories containing the infamous HD-DVD code, related stories that have made it to Digg's front page a day or so ago, have mysteriously disappeared.
A search on Digg (Front Page Stories) for "09-F9" (the first set of digits of the HD-DVD code) only reveals one story which links to the Digg Blog. Where are all the rest that have been dugged thousands of times by Digg users?
Now try the search again, this time with the "Include Buried Stories" box checked. There you have it. The stories are buried.
Update: Shy who posted this story on Digg, tells me that the story has now been buried by Digg. You can't find it in the Upcoming Stories section anymore. I tried searching for it by typing "09-f9" but couldn't find it but when I searched again with the "Include Buried Stories" box checked, presto, it is there! So apparently, you can't really question Digg's actions without some consequence.

This is the beginning of the end of Digg. Wait till those people start suing them.
I think digg was really scared to lose their users so they decided to listen to them.
Looks like they are doing some massive cleaning up.
They said they will not delete stories but they did not say they will not bury them. Haaa!
all the digg staff must have been hard at work burying all those stories... kekeke.
Walao now your story also kena buried.
:o(
The statement by the Digg founder looks like an act to keep its readers happy and shut them up so that later on they can continue with what they do best - burying stories!!!
Hmmm there are a lot of other "09-f9" stories but yours was targeted. Power to IZ Reloaded!
fuck digg.. its enjoyable but no way im participating.. those digg users have way too much time to be digging stories.
digg said they will listen to their users and not delete those stories rite so why do they bury all those stories after they release that statement?
digg has shown there is a major problem with social news sites.
to censor or not?
let the users post what they like?
or shld website owners have the final say?
It's funny that after all the chaos, now everything looks calm on Digg. Even those diggers that protested are now quiet.
Myra: Precisely!
