“It seemed a little radical when it was first brought up,” said Dan Buckley, the president and publisher of Marvel Entertainment, about Captain America's death. “But sometimes stories just take you places.” He added that the Cap is very dead right now.
Marvel also revealed that a heart-wrenching five-issue mini-series called Fallen Son: The Death of Captain America will follow different Marvel heroes and chronicle their reactions to the loss of Captain America, the first two spotlighting Wolverine and the Avengers. Marvel has a habit of bringing back dead comic heroes for example Superman, so it remains to be seen if Captain America will forever be dead.

Um, just to clarify. Superman is from DC, not Marvel.
That doesn't mean Marvel doesn't do things like this though - Phoenix, Colossus, Prof X, just to name a few.
