Mercer's annual Cost of Living Survey covers 143 cities across six continents and measures the comparative cost of over 200 items in each location, including housing, transport, food, clothing, household goods and entertainment. It is the world’s most comprehensive cost of living survey and is used to help multinational companies and governments determine compensation allowances for their expatriate employees.At the rate we are going, I'm not surprised if Singapore reaches top 10 within two years. The top 10 most expensive cities are: Moscow, London, Seoul, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Copenhagen, Geneva, Osaka, Zurich and Oslo.

Singapore is 14th most expensive city to live in
Vodka might be dirt cheap in Moscow but everything else is expensive. The Russian city has been named the world’s most expensive city for expatriates for the second consecutive year, according to the latest Cost of Living Survey from Mercer Human Resource Consulting. Singapore is at number 14, up three places and my favourite city, Sydney is at 21. From Mercer:

In Singapore, we all Pay And Pay (PAP) so that's why everything will be so expensive liao.
Even Sydney is getting cheaper.
gst increase, cable tv charges also increase, now hdb flat prices also increase! no wonder we are climbing up the table... fast.
The future is worrying. Wage increase of the substantial public do not equate inflation. Soon, we won't be able to afford anything. And sleeping on the streets are illegal here? What do we do?
